Bonsai Moon

G'Day everyone...or probably just Grace and Judy...Does anyone else pop in here???

Well, I made up these backgrounds with my favourite tool..the brayer! I first saw this tech demoed at a SDU by Phyllis Harrison. I KNOW a lot of you went to SDU! Do you remember this being demoed?

So easy, so effective! (I did try to add embellies and a sentiment, but thought it detracted from the background (like hid a lot of it), so have ended up with a very decluttered one...which I am really liking anyway!

What do you think?

Hi everyone
I also had a commitment to make a male card this week and this is my effort.
This is the 3rd male card in one week...my men sure make it hard and I struggle with male cards at the best of times.
So what have others been working on? We haven't seen anything on here for ages.
Come on girls, show us what you are up to.

Cardstock: Various, Red music background - Creative Imaginations
Other: Ribbon, charm

Hi everyone

Here is my second attempt at the challenge.
It's not quite so red and black this time.
I received a few cards lately with this layout and wanted to try it out. I am not convinced I have done the layout justice so may have to play with it some more till I am happy.
It will have to wait now until I get back from Vietnam. Oh my how am I going to cope with a whole month of no stamping!!
By the time I come back hopefully many of you will have made at least one card to share with us.
Come on ladies, join in!!

Grace

The Red Piano

Materials
Stamps: Stamps Happen Keys to Music 90306
Inks: StazOn Black
Cardstock: Bazzill and Yes White
Other: Unknown music patterned paper, Bazzill black brads, Stampin Up corner punch, Prisma pencils, H2O's, DSFT

Afternoon ladies,

Well what began as a really good idea, turned into somewhat the nightmare! I found the patterned paper and thought...Right! Let's make a card with a musical theme....get brownie points with Grace if I can get two done! (should have known that alruistic thought would land me in strife!)

I have decided to sell this stamp, even though I love it, as it is a little big for my shoulders and hands to cope with. You wouldn't believe how many times I stamped it up before I was totally happy with the outcome! If Tenia sees this, then it is artistic licence! I don't know if there really are any red pianos out there...maybe I could begin a trend????Anyway, the nightmare has been in the fiddle farting around that I have been doing. I tried white on black, colouring the piano black...mega yuck!..... Nope, it has to be red!

Then trying to stamp my piano keys (not in this image.) Do you think the black keys would stamp solidly....oh no...not with the 5 varying blacks I used...or with mouse pad under or brayering the stamp.....tried em all!Decided all of of it was the too hard basket and just raised the piano itself which I coloured with Prisma and then added depth of colour with 2-3 different H2O's.

Tis a bit simple, but I am exhausted with each step giving me grief! And I thought it was going to be easy!

Best go back to the real mission of the day...Making mango iceblocks by the scores! Just waiting on more cream to come home with DH who went into Sarina for parts.

Afternoon Grace....

Here is my challenge card, dearie!!! I found a juke box amongst my "never have seen ink or the light of day" stamps, so it obviously HAD to be used for this challenge! I believe I have satisfied the criteria! Actually, I did it yesterday, but didn't get to upload it. Been in town all day today...charming place...not!

5pm here. Neil just rung to say we will have an extra bod for tea. Gotta love him....He thinks I magically make dinner for extra people with an hour's notice...mm...coz I do, I guess....Bad bad bad habit! Must train him up better than that!

Well ladies I decided I would set the challenge going with a card of mine which I made today.
Not totally happy with it so I am going back to the stamping room to try again.

Hi everyone

Michelle set a challenge last weekend which a couple of people participated in. Well done to those who did join in the fun.

This weekend I would like to set a challenge.

I wanted pears but Michelle said no way!! Not happening!!

So my thinking hat was put on again and my challenge is to make a musical themed card.
Any colour with as many or few embellishments as you like.
Music can take many forms so pull out those stamps and see what you can come up with.

Oh oh! I can hear Michelle groaning again lol. This theme I didn't run past her first.

Come on girls and join the challenge.

Another Challenge Card

Materials:
Cardstock:Bazzill, Yes White
Stamps: Hero Arts K4208 Card Art Birthday
Inks: StazOn Black
Other: White Gel Pen, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Green Ribbon

Good morning everyone,

Slackos Inc. Hey maybe I could rename the blog that...ROFL! Alrighty girlsssssssssssss.....I know some of you have been playing....Please come and share and get this little blog moving.

Ok, I did find where I had seen the sketch I did for my previous post and indeed, this post. It was on Split Coast Stampers and is Sketch Challenge 120. Mind, I am pretty sure I have seen the same sketch in numerous places, but this was the last place I spotted it!This time I used another Hero Arts Card Art stamp. They are so lovely!

I have had a peek at their new stamps for this year and do not see too many of these....big shame as they are really lovely!Anyway, this card is done for a specific person...a male who's birthday is in the next fortnight...so I had to lay off on lots of pretty embellishments and make it simple...as he hates fussy stuff! I think I did achieve two completely different outlooks on this sketch....if you scroll down to peer at the other one...

I have also done two more and you can see these over at my personal blog
http://shellpole.blogspot.com/ . I have to say that that particular sketch is now being put to bed. Over it, over it, over it!

Grey & white swirl

Good Morning and Happy New Year to all,

Here is my challenge card. I must have stamped this image out like a dozen times, with every single brown inkpad I own, to come up with the closest match...But I guess I now have lots of images to play with down the track!

I quite like this layout....seen somewhere online...as is everything nowadays. I am going to try it in a few different colours when I get home this afternoon just to see if I can change its mood!

Anyone else like to whizz up something for this little challenge?

Challenge is 3 colours (other than the card you stamp on), ribbon and use the cuttlebug!

Have a great day,
Michelle

Well, I am back to Christmas again. This card is a bit of a hodge podge but ended up okay once I actually stopped! The card is folded at the left edge. The front flap of the card has 2cm trimmed off the right hand edge and a strip of co-ordinating paper has been attached to the inner flap.

Alcohol Inks

Materials:
Stamps:Hero Arts K4880 Cart Art Thinking of You
Cardstock: All Bazzill
Inks: Adirondack Alcohol Inks, StazOn Black
Other: Brads

Well, I have to say that the Adirondack Alcohol inks do not behave the same way for me as do the Pinata! I am having trouble with getting the inks to spread and mingle nicely. The sample I have here is with me dropping the blending solution on top after laying the colour down. It pooled nicely but leached the colour out a bit....Waste not, want not, though. Here it is made up into a quick card. (I also moved it a little when stamping...But hey, I am not doing too badly considering I cannot put any weight on the left shoulder!)

Autumn Leaves

Stamps used: Stamp It Autumn Leaves 1503D and 1502D
Card Stock: Prisma Coffee, Cinnamon and Baby Blue
Inks: Black
Other Stuff: Jo Sonja Silver Acrylic Paint, Making Memories Evergreen Acrylic Paint, Gold Skeleton Leaf, Gold decorative hinge

Hi girls,
Seeing as I can't seem to find the time or bench space to stamp at present, I have dug out some older cards. This one uses a credit card tech background. The large green leaf is stamped on a piece of the same background, trimmed and then clear embossed. The smaller leaves are coloured with Prisma pencils. The tag is printed on computer, trimmed and clear embossed, and attached with a couple of jump rings so it free swings. The tag and leaves are meant to look like they are hanging from the hinge, although the skeleton leaf and embossed leaf are fixed in place.
Cheers
Cheryll
