Bandanna Tech Sample

Hi there,

I have just spent a delightful and busy weekend at Michelle's place in Koumala. We got our entries in Deb's ATC Swap done, first time I have ever had a swap done ahead of time!! We also experimented with a Michelle Zindorf brayering technique for a swap Michelle is in ... for the stunning result, check out Michelle's blog (http://shellpole.blogspot.com/). Michelle had some visitors when I arrived on Saturday morning (stamping type visitors), and I was straight out of the car and plonked down in Michelle's dungeon playing around with alcohol inks ... talk about "into the fray"!! And as a last minute, cram it in, technique try out late on Sunday night, Michelle and I whipped up a couple of backgrounds using the Bandana Technique from a recent Technique Junkie newsletter (and in between all this, we walked the dogs, played Rummysomething or other with the family, and picked up party supplies for exhausted cane cutters) Whew!!

My Bandana background is here, and it is so pretty ... I am not sure what I am going to do with it yet, as I didn't really place the flowers very well, but "watch this space"! I will post the finished product once it is complete. Basically this tech is just sponge colour onto white card, overstamp in black, and then add highlights with dots, swirls and lines in white pigment pen. How easy is that!! If I remember rightly, I used Colorbox Chalk Inks in Lime Pastel, Prussian Blue and Aquamarine, overstamped with Black Stazon (Rhonda Farrar Swirls and I think it is a Hero Arts larger flower ... one of Michelle's, with Stamps by Judith flower stamp on a stick .. the tiny flower).

Cheers
Cheryll

  2. Hahahaha!

Sounds like a whirlwind here! (and it probably is!)Mine didn't turn out so good coz the pen wouldn't drop the ink...I got cranky with t and it blobbed. I will look for a better pen in town tomorrow when I take hubby to the specialist!

Rummicub is the name of the game, by the way!
