It's that time of year ....

As Christmas rushes closer, trying to get some Christmas cards (and a Christmas ATC swap) done is taking priority when I sit at the stamping table. These couple of cards are proto-types for a mass production, steering away from traditional colours of red and green (but I bet I end up making some in red and green anyway!).
No doubt I will end up in a mad rush as always, thinking "Christmas -25th December, plenty of time", forgetting "Christmas card mailing needs to be done a couple of weeks before to get to anyone by Christmas!".
Sigh .... I am nothing if not predictable!
How is everyone else going with their Christmas card making?
Cheers
Cheryll

Stamp is from a Kaiser Clear Stamps Christmas Set (these sets actually stamp quite well) and a little Hero Arts Xmas Greeting.
Cardstock is Bazzill Bahama and Lakeshore.
Coloured with Lyra Watercolour Crayons and well and truly pimped with lots of trusty "Bling" .... difficult to see in this scan but it is all over the tree.
The messy edges are dry brushing with white ink .... not my forte by the looks of it!

Stamps used here are Christmas Forest 2612E (which I invariably use every year) and a small Hero Arts Christmas greeting.
Card is Bazzill Admiral and Typhoon.
Coloured with Prisma Pencils.
Christmas tree star made with bling.
Slightly better at the dry brushing here.
The Greeting is sort of stuck up there in the middle of nowhere because I didn't plan ahead and no matter where I put the greeting, it "unbalanced" the card. This positioning seemed to be the least unbalanced place to whack it!

  1. Hi Cheryll,
Well, I love your Christmas cards...even in close up! Aren't we always our own worst critics? (And I also love the non-Chrissy colours.)

So far I've made one Christmas card. I think the problem is that I have so many Christmas stamps, many still unused, that I don't know where to start or what to use.
Inspiration will probably come mid December, followed by panic.

    Cheers,
    Judy

  2. Too true Judy!

Only this year, I think I just might opt out from mass producing as I really don't think I am up to it. I may be able to handle a few....Must make this thought known to the billy lids who always just think mum will whip them up 60 or 70 without any prior warning! Add in another wee fact that I am about to foster a 19 year old who does not yet have his licence (means I drive!) and time is going to be at a premium .....again!
